SIL needs volunteers for two programs:

"Cooks in the Kitchen" runs on Mondays from 12pm-5pm at the Columbia/Boone County Health Department (1005 W Worley Street). Volunteers help demonstrate and assist individuals with disabilities (18+)in learning meal planning, cooking, and kitchen safety/sanitation. We prefer that volunteers commit to every Monday in a semester to particpate. Classes are held every semester (Spring, Summer, Fall) and typically consist of 6 sessions per semester.

The second program is "Kids in the Kitchen" and occurs on Saturdays each semester (Spring, Fall) and one week in the summer from 11:00-5:00. The volunteer job description is the same as above, only working with kids (ages 13-17) with disabilities. Kids in the Kitchen is held at Boone County Family Resources (1209 E Walnut Street) during Spring and Fall and at the Health Dept (1005 W Worley Street) in the summer.
