About ChangingThePresent
ChangingThePresent is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, which helps channel to nonprofits some of the $250 Americans spend each year on birthday, holiday, and other gifts, by making the experience of giving a donation in a friend’s name feel like a gift with tangible giving opportunities, wish lists, registries, and beautiful, personalized printed greeting cards. The New York Times referred to the site as an "amazon.com of the nonprofit world." You may recognize this as the approach proven by Heifer International, which raises $115 million a year by letting people donate to fund farm animals in a friend’s name. If farm animals can attract that much money, imagine how much is available for other larger nonprofits. The Next Phase
We are about to launch the next phase of this nonprofit, which involves inviting the participation of all one million nonprofits, providing each with their own private gift site, and promoting this growing social norm: you don’t have to buy stuff to show your love; instead, you can do something meaningful in a friend’s name. Responsibilities
Interns will work in teams focused on specific causes they care about (environment, animals, hunger, etc.). They will:
* Develop strategies to grow awareness and participation
* Recruit volunteers to assist in their efforts
* Invite nonprofits to join the site
* Build strategic partnerships with associations of nonprofits and affinity groups of funders
* Grow awareness through media, social media, organizations, and thought leaders whose audiences care about that cause
* Invite the participation of celebrities who care about the cause Requirements
* Undergraduate, graduate student, or recent graduate (including OPT).
* Smart, self-starter, quick learner and team player.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
* Happy to work in an energetic, creative, and supportive environment with interns from around the world.

Mission Statement
ClassWish.org helps schools and teachers get the supplies and equipment children need to explore their potential and excel.
Description
The Problem
Few schools have enough money for the supplies and equipment children need to explore their potential and excel. Art supplies, musical instruments, science equipment, books, computers, sports gear, even paper for the printers and copiers are in short supply, and budget cuts are making it much worse.
Our Approach
ClassWish.org helps teachers and schools inspire and tap support in their communities:
· Teachers and school leaders create wish lists of the resources they need
· Parents, alumni, businesses and others in the community can see exactly what is needed and how they can help
· They contribute online and may match their donation with one to a low-income school that needs more support
· Donors receive a receipt for their tax-deductible donation
· ClassWish ships the items directly to the schools, at no cost
The result? Teachers get the support they need. Parents and communities are engaged in supporting classrooms and funding the things they care about. And everyone is united in helping our children learn, grow and perform at their best.CAUSE AREAS
