SCORE Midlands is actively seeking volunteers to provide small business mentoring to aspiring entrepreneurs and operating businesses.

Volunteering with SCORE offers a variety of interesting benefits. SCORE provides opportunities to meet and work with like-minded friends, give back to the community, create a positive difference by contributing to the success and lives of others, and more. SCORE Mentors provide advice in person, by phone, by email, and/or by Zoom depending on the circumstances.

SCORE prefers candidate volunteers have at least 10-years business management or professional experience in any sector. Our active mentors include current and retired business owners, managers, operational leaders, attorneys, accountants, sales & marketing professionals, social media marketing experts, and professionals with other disciplines.

Description

SCORE, America's premier source of free and confidential small business advice for entrepreneurs and small businesses, is a nonprofit resource partner with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). We have over 300 SCORE offices across the country and 10,000 volunteers offering free business mentoring and low- or no-cost workshops.

For over 50 years, SCORE's thousands of working and retired business professionals have volunteered to support the success of small business nationwide. SCORE business mentoring is free and confidential.

We provide:

  • Free, confidential business mentoring in person, via email or by video
  • Volunteer mentors who share their expertise across industries
  • Free business tools, templates and tips online
  • Inexpensive or free business workshops (locally) and webinars (online 24/7)
