Vocational Rehabilitation and Blind Services (VRBS) provides services to individuals with disabilities to help them prepare for, obtain, retain and advance in employment. The vision of the agency is to maximize the potential of all individuals with disabilities to achieve the same high-quality careers as those without disabilities.
The VISTA will primarily work on research to help develop outreach strategies and design marketing tools to be used by the business team, and initiate outreach to employers to help disseminate materials and educate employers about VRBS and disability related resources. The VISTA will utilize employer surveys that have been completed by other programs and, if necessary, create other surveys to gather additional information on employer needs. The VISTA will also assist in the implementation of Windmills Disability Awareness Training, a best-practice training developed by the California Governor’s Committee on the Employment of People with Disabilities, to business groups. This position is located in Billings.

The Prevention Resource Center VISTA Project connects Montana communities, the Interagency Coordinating Council for State Prevention Programs, and the AmeriCorps Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA) throughout the state of Montana. It strives to keep Montana children, communities and families strong and resilient against risks such as unintended and unhealthy pregnancies, child abuse and neglect, substance abuse, crime and violence, and high school drop-outs.
