If you would love to help a patient, who is terminally ill, leave a life story to share with family members, this is a great opportunity for you! Become a personal historian. Help a hospice patient tell or write their life story. Life story writing and reminiscence can improve the mood and quality of life for adults with more years behind them than ahead of them. This would consist of visits with hospice patient and allowing them to share their stories. It can be recorded in writing or video (with consent of patient). You must be able to listen well and gently elicit stories and messages. Offer compassion and trust. This story is then given to the loved ones of the patient to be carried on throughout generations to come. How much joy would it be to share your time with a patient, recording their story, and sharing with their loved ones?

Description
The mission of Curo Health Services - Avalon Hospice is to honor life and offer compassion to individuals and their families when facing a life-limiting illness.
We have opened a brand new office here in Lawrenceburg and would like to extend an offer to you for our Volunteer Program. People volunteer for a number of different reasons, but mostly because it’s a way of giving back. They work on behalf of others without payment for their time and services. In return, hospice volunteers meet people, learn new skills, build relationships, make connections, and improve quality of life for others during the last phases of life.
We here at Avalon Hospice have several different Volunteer Roles in Hospice Care including; Administrative, Bereavement, Direct Patient Care, Special Projects, and Special Resources
A couple of our major programs we offer to our patients are the Hospice For Heroes and Perenity Programs.
