Volunteer at the beautiful Honeymoon Island State Park assisting our toll collectors. If you are a people person and want to support Florida State Parks, this is a great opportunity to do so. Volunteer shifts are everyday of the week at the following times: 8:30a-12:30p 12:30p-4:30p and 4:30p-8:30p Please contact volunteer coordinator Brooke Hoerner for more information or to get started volunteering with the Honeymoon Island administration. Friends of the Island Parks, Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, whose purpose is to provide educational, interpretive, and financial assistance to Caladesi Island and Honeymoon Island State Parks. This group is recognized as a citizen support organization by Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Recreation & Parks.
Description
Friends of the Island Parks is a CSO (Citizens Support Organization). Florida Park Service CSOs are volunteer organizations that sponsor events, raise funds, and support the goals of Florida state parks. The Friends of the Island Parks CSO's main focus is the support of Caladesi Island State Park and Honeymoon Island State Park. We join the Egmont Key Alliance and Friends of Anclote Key along with the Friends of Florida State Parks in supporting our island parks. Honeymoon and Caladesi Islands are rare, natural barrier islands that are basically undeveloped. Visitors have the opportunity to enjoy a taste of Florida's original coast, to see many types of wildlife that depend on these ecosystems and to learn about these islands that need to be protected. - See more at: http://www.islandparks.org/index.htm#sthash.mvml8a4H.dpuf
