MAJOR OBJECTIVE
The environmental maintenance coordinator will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the MOCEANS’ office area to ensure a clean and safe workplace.
QUALIFICATIONS
Capability to perform basic cleaning and environmental maintenance
Perform basic management of cleaning supplies
RESPONSIBILITIES
Keep the MOCEANS office area in an orderly and good condition.
Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
Gather and empty trash.
Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
Steam-clean or shampoo carpets.
Notify staff of any issues that require building superintendent intervention, including the presence of pests, water damage, or other safety concerns.
ORIENTATION/TRAINING
MOCEANS will provide both online and in-person training. Orientation will occur on the first day of volunteer hours and will last approximately one hour. On-going training and support will be provided as needed.
TIME AND PLACE
The environmental maintenance coordinator will perform maintenance responsibilities weekly, bi-weekly or monthly for the time needed to maintain the office area in a clean and orderly condition.
COMMITMENT
This position requires a minimum commitment of 6 months and offers a flexible schedule.
