ORGANIZATION: MOCEANS Center for Independent Living

MAJOR OBJECTIVE

The environmental maintenance coordinator will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the MOCEANS’ office area to ensure a clean and safe workplace.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Capability to perform basic cleaning and environmental maintenance

  • Perform basic management of cleaning supplies


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Keep the MOCEANS office area in an orderly and good condition.

  • Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.

  • Gather and empty trash.

  • Service, clean, and supply restrooms.

  • Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.

  • Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.

  • Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.

  • Steam-clean or shampoo carpets.

  • Notify staff of any issues that require building superintendent intervention, including the presence of pests, water damage, or other safety concerns.


ORIENTATION/TRAINING

MOCEANS will provide both online and in-person training. Orientation will occur on the first day of volunteer hours and will last approximately one hour. On-going training and support will be provided as needed.


TIME AND PLACE

The environmental maintenance coordinator will perform maintenance responsibilities weekly, bi-weekly or monthly for the time needed to maintain the office area in a clean and orderly condition.

COMMITMENT

This position requires a minimum commitment of 6 months and offers a flexible schedule.
