CURATORIAL:

A curatorial volunteer has a variety of opportunities to do. You might check in or log in artifacts, books, or photos. You can assist in putting photos, maps or documents into archival preservation materials. Collecting and documenting obituaries, newspaper articles, or historical references is another job. Helping to decide what displays are going to be presented to the public and putting up these displays is one of the most favorite opportunities that a curatorial volunteer does! The curatorial volunteers work on different days during the week, always for a set amount of time, and usually begin about 9:30 am. Although some of our displays remain the same each year, we are always rotating and setting up new displays for the summer and holiday season. Housekeeping and cleaning is not a favorite job, but it is part of keeping our museum rooms presentable to the public.
