circle of parents

The Arc is the host agency for the program Circle of Parents that is funded by Alliance for Children. Circle of Parents is a free bilingual support group for families with children age birth to five with a special health need. Families are encouraged to bring their children to the support group because during the time that families are meeting, a children's program is available where there are many educational games, toys and activities for the children to join in on. We are looking for fun loving volunteers to come interact and play with the children in our program! This program is currently held twice a month on Friday evenings. The program starts with dinner that is catered in at 6:30 and families are able to eat until 7:15. At this time, the children are taken to their own room with adults and volunteers until 8:30 when it's time to head back to families and end the meeting.

As stated before, these are children with special health needs but are just as fun loving, energetic and active as anyone else. This volunteer opportunity with the children's program is a great idea for anyone who is interested in helping out in the community whether it be for high school service projects, church service projects or even college internships. As a volunteer you wont be asked to come to each meeting each month but will be on a rotation with other volunteers as well. We encourage you to come out for a couple hours to have some fun!
