Chrysalis is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a pathway to self-sufficiency for homeless and low-income individuals by providing the resources and support needed to find and retain employment.
Our philosophy is that a steady job is the single most important step in a person’s transition out of poverty and onto a pathway to long-term self-sufficiency. Offering a hand up, rather than a hand out, Chrysalis empowers our clients to complete a self-directed job search.

Chrysalis volunteers play an integral role in empowering clients to build specific skills related to the job search process and instilling the self-esteem needed to succeed beyond the interview. There are many ways that volunteers help to support our programs, including:

To create a pathway to self-sufficiency for homeless and low-income individuals by providing the resources and support needed to prepare for, find, and retain employment.
Chrysalis volunteers play an integral role in our clients' success and provide direct services. They facilitate job readiness classes, provide support for filling out online job applications, organize our resource rooms, prepare resumes and help clients practice their interview skills. For ongoing volunteer opportunities, Chrysalis volunteers will be required to submit a brief online application, attend an informational session (held monthly at each site), receive training and ongoing evaluation, agree to confidentiality terms, and commit to 2 consecutive hours on a weekly or biweekly basis. Volunteer hours are between 8am-12pm or 1pm-4pm Monday through Thursday and 8am-12pm on Fridays.
