VOLUNTEER POSITION: Childcare Helper
REPORTS TO: Childcare Director
GENERAL FUNCTION: The Childcare Helper assists teachers on their day to day activities with engaging activities.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
Provide youth ages infant to teen with support and engaging activities
Keep the playroom and childcare areas clean and organized
Assist with crafts, games or free-play
Lead engaging activities such as reading time, arts and crafts
Act as a positive role model
Provide positive reinforcement and promote health, non-violent behaviors
Complete other task as assigned
DESIRED ATTRIBUTES
Pleasant personality
Patience, Compassion and good people skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
Able to work independently and follow scheduled plans
PREFERRED SKILLS
Be able to speak Spanish and or other bilingual skills
PREFERRED TIME COMMITMENT
One shift per week, OR
At least 3 shifts in 1 month to remain an active volunteer

Description
At St. Paul’s Senior Services, we welcome and encourage Volunteers to share their time, knowledge, enthusiasm, and passion to help our community of Seniors that we serve! We have a wide range of volunteer opportunities available within our Residential Living, Intergenerational Program, Ministry Services, PACE (Program of All Inclusive Care for the Elderly) and our Daily Business Operations. Volunteer opportunities include, but are not limited to: Arts & Crafts, Board Games, Story-Time, Walking Residents, Bingo, Food Servers, Picnic/Outing Helpers, Data Entry, Reception Greeters, and many more. We are always in need of extra help throughout our seven campuses. Residents and staff have requested needs such as, Reiki Therapy, Companionship, Decorators, Arts & Crafts, Bible Studies, etc. If you are interested in Volunteering or know of someone who is, please fill out our application located on our web-site.
