About Us

Do you know what harmful contaminants are in your water? How it gets there? What effect it has on your families and environment? Save the Water(tm) (STW(tm)) is the one looking for answers.

STW(tm) is a U.S.-based nonprofit organization whose mission is to conduct water research to identify and remove harmful contaminants in water; and to raise public awareness about water contamination and its health impacts. STW also offers educational programs to excite young minds about water science.


Our volunteers are diverse professionals from all over the world bringing their knowledge and experience to STW because we care deeply about our communities and water resources. Public relations associates are tasked with fielding media questions and pitching stories to the media, preparing media kits. They write speeches for organizational leaders, develop advertising and marketing communications material and prepare articles for corporate newsletters. Save the Water(tm) (STW(tm)) is seeking an Associate for Marketing Associate: Public Relations who Supports the Marketing Group.


Associates are expected to put in a minimum of 5 hours per week and be responsive to emails within three (3) calendar days.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Attend monthly Marketing group meeting.

  • Report to Project Leader for the given project team.

  • Complete the PWR at least on the weekly minimum basis.

  • Responsible for building and maintaining a positive company image by managing communication strategies and tactics that promote related products and services, organizational developments such as new business ventures and support overall brand positioning and messaging

  • Create visually appealing graphics/ infographics for our website and other marketing material.
    Provide strategic advice on our marketing plan WordPress working knowledge preferred, but not required.
    Works closely with the Social Media, Technology, Fundraising, Education and Marketing group to develop graphic designs and infographics for use on social media platforms.

  • Support the Public Relations Project Leader with public relations campaigns, including but not limited to:

    • Development of outreach communication plan

    • Cultivation of Media contacts promoting Water Science cause

    • Promotion and positioning of STW Science volunteers as water authority resources

    • Monitor and provide consultation on public's awareness of the STW cause

    • Responding to email correspondence regarding general inquiries

    • Responsible for planning and implementation of external communications initiatives that support Save The Water


Experience/Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously.

  • Requires self-direction, tact, diplomacy and a clear, courteous and professional manner when dealing with the public.

  • Must demonstrate effective oral communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with staff inside and outside of the department.

  • Good organizational skills.

  • Creative.

  • Ability to work as part of a team.

  • Strong knowledge of Google Drive Platform.

  • Strong communicational skills both written and verbal.

  • The ability to work in a virtual environment with minimal supervision.
