Alex's laugh is so contagious he has earned the nickname of "Giggle Boy".

How would you like to get valuable work experience in a fun and uplifting setting? Join Project RIDE and work wtih horses and disabled children. We'll train you how to care for horses, how to work with people wtih disabilities, and how to maintain a horseback riding arena. No minimum time commitment required. Volunteer once a week on the day of your choice for a couple hours or so. Good exercise and lots of social interaction with our clients and other teen volunteers. Get all your community service hours for next school year done before school even begins! Right in the heart of downtown Elk Grove, convenient to transportation. Located in a beautiful indoor riding arena. Just be careful... volunteering here is addictive!

Mission Statement

Since 1979, Project R.I.D.E. has provided recreational therapeutic horseback riding instruction to people with special needs. Our program is dedicated to the improvement of a rider's physical, mental, social and emotional well-being through interaction with specially trained horses and ponies.

Description

We provide therapeutic horseback riding instruction to people with special needs. Volunteers assist in the daily operation of our program including walking with students while they ride and managing horses safely.
