ORGANIZATION: MOCEANS Center for Independent Living

MAJOR OBJECTIVE

The social media coordinator will be responsible for bringing MOCEANS’ mission to life online through real time interaction and social media monitoring.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience managing consumer facing conversations online and leveraging social media

  • Proficiency in updating, navigating and utilizing each of the major social channels, including understanding the terms of use and best practices for each

  • Experience integrating social media efforts into broader media and marketing strategies

  • Strong understanding of current social media landscape

  • Ability to strictly adhere to confidentiality policies

  • Excellent organizational, written and interpersonal skills

  • Works well independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and manage multiple deadlines

  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Engage and grow our online community

  • Participate in conversations, twitter chats, groups and other relevant discussions that reflect MOCEANS’ mission

  • Strategically share original content and shared content to increase exposure and engagement

  • Work cross functionally with PR, marketing, and the social media team to develop social media campaigns and ideas

  • Developing monthly social creative content brief and implementing with the assistance of internal team and agency partners


ORIENTATION/TRAINING

MOCEANS will provide both online and in-person training. Orientation will occur on the first day of volunteer hours and will last approximately one hour. On-going training and support will be provided as needed.


TIME AND PLACE

The social media coordinator will work 5 or more hours each week, but no less than 30 minutes per 24-hour time period. This is a virtual position, although the volunteer may use the Center’s computers and resources if needed, subject to availability.


COMMITMENT

This position requires a minimum commitment of one year and offers a flexible schedule.

MOCEANS will provide reference letters for all volunteers who successfully complete a placement.
