STW(tm) is a U.S.-based nonprofit organization whose mission is to conduct water research to identify and remove harmful contaminants in water; and to raise public awareness about water contamination and its health impacts. STW also offers educational programs to excite young minds about water science.


Our volunteers are diverse professionals from all over the world bringing their knowledge and experience to STW because we care deeply about our communities and water resources. Save the Water(tm) is seeking a Marketing Associate Director, Membership Relations who manages and supports the team in planning, development and implementation of all membership relationships including constituent relationship management, email communications and direct mail communications, both external and internal. This role also involves communicating the organization's purpose and activities, as well as developing and promoting the mission.


Associate Directors are expected to put in a minimum of 10 hours per week and be responsive to emails within three (3) calendar days.


Primary Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Director of Marketing for growing nonprofit organization

  • Assist the Director of Marketing with management and strategy.

  • Help Director oversee department of an average of 5-15 volunteers and interns, promoting brand equity, website traffic growth and development of followers in order to obtain advertising sponsors and donations.

  • Assist the Director in planning and conducting monthly Marketing Group meetings, including sending agenda, taking meeting minutes, and follow up

  • Assist the Director of Marketing with the managing marketing strategies and campaigns, included but not limited to organizing and implementing the Marketing strategy - including campaigns, events, digital marketing, and PR.

  • Work closely with Social Media Group, Fundraising Group, and the UX Design team to ensure lead targets are met and all campaigns are executed successfully.

  • Supports team through proofreading marketing communications and marketing presentations.

  • Responsible for assisting the PR Project Leader in the development and management of effective public relations/media plans; supporting celebrity handling logistics, press kits, contest winners and planning of PR related/hosted events.

  • Attend Quarterly Operations Meetings.

  • Manage Project Leaders and Volunteers

  • Manage and keep operational documents current.

  • Assist in developing procedures & documents for the organization.

  • Assist in running the monthly Marketing group meeting.

  • Complete the PWR audit for the Project Leaders each month


Experience/Requirements:
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously. Must be extremely organized and possess a solution-oriented mindset.

  • Requires self-direction, tact, diplomacy and a clear, courteous and professional manner when dealing with the public.

  • Must demonstrate effective oral communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with staff inside and outside of the department. High energy level is essential.

  • Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, and communication skills

  • Associate degree (or currently enrolled in degree program) or comparable work experience
