Interpretive Zoo Volunteers, "Zoo Talkers", are energetic, friendly, and well-spoken volunteers who enjoy "talking story" about the animals who call our zoo home and inspiring others to appreciate our living world. Share your knowledge and passion for animals with visitors from all over the world by staffing one of 4 interpretive stations throughout the zoo. Due to COVID restrictions we are just offering interpretation at this time and not utilizing artifacts. For those 16+.
Jr. Leaders, teen program, offers hands on experience for those 13-18 years old to aid the education department in their Summer, Spring and Winter outdoor, science based, educational programs.
Volunteering with your community group is very appreciated and encouraged at the zoo, A one day commitment can be arranged for special projects or events. Please contact scarlos@honzoosoc.org for more information.
Training is provided. Minimum hours, shifts and minimum commitment dependent on volunteer opportunity. Please inquire for more information.
