Rural Stearns Faith in Action is an organization that provides seniors, those with disabilities, and those facing difficult life situations with both professional and volunteer services to remain happy and healthy in their homes.
We are currently seeking a volunteer (or possibly two) to provide respite care in a clients home. There will be a caregiver in the home while a volunteer is there, but sleeping. Respite care volunteers can do a variety of things with our clients, depending on the situation. You might find yourself reading a newspaper out loud, watching a movie or television show together, reading a book, or even knitting or crocheting while there. The resident would not be needing any medical care from you, possibly just reassurance that they are not alone or simple redirection to keep them safe. Training is provided.
This client and their caregiver are hoping for 2 afternoons per week from 1 PM - 4 PM

Our program volunteers serve seniors and people with difficult life situations living in the rural communities of Stearns County with the ultimate goal of keeping people in their homes as long as possible. We do this through offering transportation, homemaking, chore services, home modification/repair, friendly visiting, respite care, and the list goes on.
