YWCA Childcare Help Needed

ORGANIZATION: YWCA of Seattle-King County-Snohomish County

The YWCA has multiple sites, multiple child care positions, and multiple dates/times available.

Most of our childcare positions are to help our program support groups, when parents come together to either attend a class, or a support group. The parents are usually in one room, and the kids are with a staff member having a program themselves, and that's where you'd be. Supervising the kids, helping with projects, and making sure everyone stays safe while having fun!

If this is something you'd like to move forward on, we will start by having you do an online profile, get some references and paperwork. Then one more meeting with who would be your direct supervisor who’ll do a small orientation to learn some of the challenges working with homeless or domestic violence populations.

Once the staff signs off on your interview, we do a background check, and when that clears, you're ready to go!

We are really looking for long term committed volunteers, and would love to get your started on the process, so please let me know if you'd like to move forward and when you might be available for an interview.

Thank you so much for your interest.

All YWCA ongoing volunteers/interns must complete all the following steps before starting:

  • Apply for the volunteer position
  • Complete all necessary paperwork
  • Submit two character references
  • Attend a YWCA Volunteer Orientation within 30 days of the volunteer's first day.
Please contact us at volunteer@ywcaworks.org to begin this process.

All YWCA volunteers under age 16 are required to have a parent or guardian volunteer with them.

To complete court-ordered community service hours with YWCA, you must contact Volunteer Services and be cleared before you begin your volunteer hours. Contact us at 206.461.3214 or volunteer@ywcaworks.org.
