Duties and Responsibilities:
● Community Engagement; build and maintain partnerships with community stakeholders, public
offices, and higher and vocational educational institutions
● Establish awareness of potentially fundable programs
● Collaborate with Community Projects Director to develop funding and project proposals
● Work with city and county planning agencies in redevelopment projects
● Collaborate with internal programs to support the overall mission and vision of the organization
● Provide community education and outreach through public presentations to local officials, civic
organizations, and community groups
Required qualifications:
● 1-2 years of experience in public speaking, including but not limited to video presentations, social
media or blogging
● 2 years of community outreach experience
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills
● Strong attention to detail and extremely organized
● Excellent narrative writing and proposal development skills
● Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google programs (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, etc.)
● Have access to reliable computer
Preferred qualifications:
● Entry-level experience in public policy, urban planning and development, or community organizing
● Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in public relations, sociology, or related field
