This is a great opportunity for Social Work students wanting patient experience.
Volunteer will receive charity screening specific training. Utilizing a script and patient list, visit assigned patient rooms to assess needs. Provide kits to identified patients. Log contacts and results. Forward concerns to Social Services supervisor. Run errands, deliver supplies, etc. as needed. Assist with mail projects: stuffing and addressing envelopes, sorting mail. Perform general clerical office support tasks: filing, copy work, update reports, answering phones, document assembly, labeling, etc.
Volunteer must have: the ability to traverse long distances; acceptable visual and audio acuity; possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills; be alert and able to problem-solve; have the ability read/write English legibly; be of sound mental and emotional health; and be flexible.
Supervisor willing to provide Flexible work schedule.
