Between our summer reading programs in the learning center, channeling Picasso in the art studio, or coaching a sports team; there are many different opportunities for volunteers with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver! We have 10 sites accepting volunteers throughout the Metro Denver area.

We’re seeking individuals that can commit to serving as little as two hours per week! Our Clubs are open 9am-5pm Monday-Friday during the summer. This schedule will remain until the start of the school year. Volunteers are welcome to serve whenever the Clubs are open; this leads to flexibility in scheduling your volunteer work. We understand that lives are busy and scheduling conflicts come up. The Clubs are willing to work you regarding your schedule.

We charge a Volunteer Application Fee to help us cover the costs associated with processing our volunteers. This fee includes the training, a background check (which is required for all adults within the Clubs), and a BGCMD volunteer t-shirt.

Note: If this fee presents a barrier for you to volunteer with us, please notify me. We’re happy to work with you in regards to our fee.

If you're interested in additional information, please contact Liz Fraley at LizF@BGCMD.org

About Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver

Location:

2017 W. 9th Ave, Denver, CO 80204, US

Mission Statement

To empower every Club member, through safe and impactful experiences, to: graduate high school with a plan for college or career, contribute to their community and live a healthy life.

Description

At Boys & Girls Clubs, we know the hours between 3:00-6:00 p.m. are the peak hours for juvenile crime and the time when kids are most likely to experiment with drugs, alcohol, cigarettes and other risky behaviors. We also know that today in our metro Denver community, children are facing obstacles more challenging than ever before. Kids from low-income families are six times more likely to drop out of school, and 41 percent of kids across Denver are overweight or obese - a number that continues to steadily increase year after year.

Boys & Girls Clubs provide young people with opportunities to engage in programs that help them achieve academic success, take charge of their health by building healthy habits that will stick with them throughout their lives, and foster the skills they need to become leaders in their communities.

Boys & Girls Clubs are there for kids when they need us most: after school, all day in the summer, and even during the school day. Our membership is open to all youth ages 6-18, and for $2 annually, our Club members have access to a wealth of programming that has the power to positively shape and change their lives.
