The Department is in need of volunteers to act as Administrative Assistants.
The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for completing a variety of administrative tasks. This includes answering phones and directing calls, performing some mailing tasks, photocopying documents, preparing reports, and taking minutes during meetings. The volunteer may also be called upon to schedule and coordinate meetings or other activities as necessary.
The volunteer must have knowledge of office equipment and business practices. Prior Administrative Assistant experience is helpful but not required. A friendly and professional phone demeanor are also required for this position. The volunteer must have strong attention to detail and excellent problem solving skills. A background in finance would be helpful, but not required.
Background screening and training is required for all volunteers. Administrative Assistant volunteers will be trained on DOH services, policies, and procedures. Training on various software can be supplied as necessary.
