Food Pantry Greeter and Guide

ElderNet of Lower Merion and Narberth needs volunteers to help out at the Ada Mutch Community Resource Center food pantry on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 12 pm and/or 2pm to 4pm. While "regular" shift slots may be currently filled, we always need "substitutes" who can be called in when regularly assigned volunteers are unavailable. This volunteer position is best suited for someone who is able to carry items up and down stairs, and who is very comfortable working with a low-income population comprised of adults of all ages and backgrounds. As a pantry volunteer, you will help guide clients as they shop through certain areas of the pantry, help older or disabled clients with their grocery bags as needed, help bring in food donations when they arrive, and restock pantry items throughout the shift. It's very important to us that our clients feel comfortable and welcomed when they visit our pantry, and we want you to be a part of that! If you have any questions, please email Liz Hill at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 610-525-0706. Thank you!
About ElderNet of Lower Merion and Narberth
9 S. Bryn Mawr Avenue, Bryn Mawr, PA 19010, US
To help older and younger disabled adults who have low-moderate incomes remain living independently in their homes by providing free volunteer, social work, and emergency help.
ElderNet provides volunteer based services such as escort (door through door) driving to medical and other necessary appointments, rides to shopping, to the bank and other errands. We also provide telephone reassurance (daily well-being checks), friendly visiting, odd jobs and small home repairs (like installing grab bars), and help with managing checkbooks and bills. We also provide a food cupboard. These services are free and are limited to older and younger adults/families who reside in Lower Merion Township and Narberth Borough in Montgomery County, PA. We also provide emergency financial assistance (again, with income and residency restrictions). Our information and referral services are open to anyone. We also have new and evolving services that further contribute to helping older and disabled younger adults remain living in their own homes. We collaborate with other agencies, and have a very active advocacy committee.
We'll work with your schedule.
