Our mission is to support seniors, living at home, for as long as they remain safe and healthy. We nurture body, mind and spirit by helping to overcome physical barriers, help physical impediments, enhancing mental acuity and befriending our clients.

Description

The Council on Aging of Elkhart has been assisting older adults in the Elkhart community for over 30 years. Since its beginnings in the 1960's we have seen a steady increase in the number of older adults in Elkhart County. With the "Baby Boomers" quickly approaching age 60, we expect this age group to increase in numbers significantly over the next several years. Since it's inseption, the Council on Aging has relied heavily on its volunteers as an intregral part of our staff. To continue to accomplish our mission, we must not only nurture this vital relationship but encourage its growth. United in the future, as in the past, we will work together to meet the needs of our growing older adult community.
