The Friends are looking for someone to be in charge of the following positions. Please email Nancy for more information--- friends@gardencitylibrary.org

Monday afternoon shift for Mini Monday sales - 3:00 -5:30 - duties include competency and high comfort level as cashier, using the PayPal tablet, greeting customers and tidying the book carts. This shift also includes moving the book carts (8-10 of them) back upstairs via the elevator, putting them away in the Friends’ area and closing out the cash register. This position is not onerous but will require specific training from a Friends supervisor. It will require some physical stamina (to move the carts) although occasionally we do have a young man who comes to help us move them (but not always), as well as a willingness to commit to BE HERE every week (or every other week, if we can get two people to share this shift).

Amazon scanning and listing - this position requires someone who is very comfortable on the computer, is able to learn our specific system of scanning books and rating them for our Amazon store. Once the job is learned, which isn’t difficult, it is a consistent task, as we always do the same procedure for the books to be listed on Amazon. The listing process is specific to Friends and will need to be taught by Nancy or Art before they leave. Again, we need someone who is mature enough to be dependable and able to be here probably a couple days a week (2+ hours each day) to keep on top of this job. Hours can be set to suit the individual(s) but they need to commit to be here.
