About Volunteer Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program

Location:

1901 N. DuPont Highway, Main Administration Building, New Castle, DE 19720, US

Mission Statement

Volunteer Ombudsmen visit residents of Delaware's long term care facilities who are elderly or have disabilities. They are trained in resident's rights and act as advocates for residents and their families who may have concerns that they cannot deal with themselves. Most importantly, they help alleviate the loneliness and isolation of residents simply by stopping by and visiting. In giving their time and attention, volunteers can make a huge difference in the lives of nursing home residents. Most volunteers find the work very rewarding, and feel that they get back much more than they give.
