The team at Aurora at Home Hospice is looking to grow its volunteer workforce.
Students volunteering with us have the potential to gain experience for the workforce in some of the following ways. Volunteering students can:
- Explore their personal gifts and talents.
Refine essential skills for their résumé.
Experience personal gratification knowing they have made a difference in the life of a terminally ill person’s life or the life of their family.
If you are preparing to be a nurse, medical social worker, certified nursing assistant, medical administration - this may be for you. If you want to make a positive difference in someone’s life - this may be for you.
Employers today are looking for workers with excellent written and oral communication skills as well as positive, "can-do" attitudes. Employers are also seeking employees who are both self-motivated and have pertinent life experience for the jobs they are seeking. Perhaps we can assist you by offering an opportunity to volunteer in our organization.
Volunteers are trained based on their interests. We accommodate the schedules of our volunteers and provide flexible hours. We provide gas reimbursement at 100%. Aurora at Home Hospice offers a "hands-on" training opportunity.
