Are you interested in working toward a long-term solution to homelessness? Sacramento Self-Help Housing is looking for volunteers to work directly with the homeless to help them find housing.
Volunteer responsibilities include conducting an intake interview with clients to assess client income, disabilities, housing needs, etc. The volunteer will then connect the client with housing resources to get the client off the street and into permanent housing as soon as possible.
No previous experience or knowledge is necessary - all volunteers will be trained in the intake process and on housing resources that are available to the homeless. If you are interested in working towards a long-term solution to homelessness, this is the opportunity for you!

Description
Providing Housing Resources
Every month, Housing Resources obtains information regarding rental cost, policies and vacancies for over 300 housing complexes. Each month, our staff also addresses the housing needs of over 200 people by utilizing this information to make appropriate housing referrals.
