Volunteers in Medical Records or Health Information Management (HIM) help with one or more of the following importants tasks that maintain and digitize patient records.
Data entry.
File, copy and mail correspondence.
Answers telephone, takes phone requests, routes callers to proper area.
Assist with Patient Portal.
Perform quality assurance activities as requested by Manager including reviewing of data in EMR.
Respects patient privacy by maintaining confidentiality in all phases of work.

No matter what the volunteer role, volunteers are a valuable resource and their time is truly appreciated. The essence of volunteerism is the spirit of services to others. Our goal is to continue to serve patients while providing the volunteer with a challenging and satisfying experience.
