The Skyline Food & Resource center provides those in need with groceries which they can receieve every 30 days. The amount of items they are able to choose is based on the number of people living in their household. In order to keep the information of patrons organized, Skyline uses a database called Oasis, which is how each person gets signed in when they go through for assistance.
The intake assistant would be there to sit at the desk in the lobby and make patrons feel comfortable while signing in. They would be responsible for looking up client's cases and determining, based on what has been recorded in the system, if they can receive assistance that day.
Basic computer/typing knowledge is required and training will be provided.
A volunteer in this position would be encouraged to come in when Skyline opens at 9 and stay until the FRC closes, although any amount of hours you felt inclined to donate would be appreciated.
The FRC hours are as follows:
Mondays 1 PM - 6 PM
Tuesdays & Thursdays 10:30 AM - 2 PM
Wednesdays 1 PM - 4 PM
Fridays 9 AM - Noon
Saturdays 9 AM - 11 AM

In addition to the Food Resource Center, Skyline is home to several other programs meant to assist those struggling with poverty. The ultimate goal is to restore dignity to the lives of patrons, end stereotypes, and foster a new era of compassion and respect for those living on the margins.
