Helping Link/Một Dấu Nối is looking for a motivated, personable volunteer to serve as the Sponsorship/Donor Coordinator leading up to our 31st annual fundraising event this October. Sponsorships, both corporate and individual, are one of the major reasons our event is so successful and this is an excellent opportunity to build relationships with various community organizations. This is a great opportunity for individuals interested in volunteer management and community relations, even if you don’t have a lot of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Send letters and make phone calls to local businesses on Helping Link’s behalf.
  • Secure companies and individuals to sponsor and donate to our event in support of our organization's social and community efforts.
  • Work with other event committee volunteers and fill in where needed.

Requirements:

  • Ability to skillfully handle people in-person and on the phone for positive outcomes.
  • Possess strong written communication skills.
  • Solid computer skills, with working knowledge and basic competencies with MS Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work in a team and lead volunteers.
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to multi-task and manage time wisely.
  • Fun-loving and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Function as a cooperative member of a team.
  • Driver's License or Legal form of ID needed for Background Check.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.
  • Orientation and Training.

Weekly time commitment:

  • Minimum of 4 hours/week
  • Present - End of October

When:

  • We'll work with your schedule.
  • Weekdays - Daytime and Evening
  • Weekend - Daytime and Evening

Where:

  • Remote (King County Area, Washington State)

Helping Link has been serving the Vietnamese-American immigrant community for twenty-five years. We provide English language, citizenship, and computer education classes for adults and seniors; job-site language training; information and referral services for our most vulnerable; and cultural events for the community. Our programs are offered in a bilingual context and in a supportive, family-friendly atmosphere.
