English Language Training (ELT) Volunteers assist newly arrived refugees in gaining the basic skills they need to be successful in the classroom. ELTs work with small groups and individuals of newly arrivals who are pre-literate and often have no experience in an educational setting. These volunteers prepare students for mainstream English classes provided by a partner agency. Training, materials, and ongoing support is provided to ELT volunteers throughout their time.
