SCORE is an affiliate of the U.S. Small Business Administration. We help 'would-be entrepreneurs' and small businesses think through their ideas to help them make better decisions. Our support comes in three forms. First, we conduct monthly seminars on topics of interest to small business. Second, we offer existing businesses volunteer Advisory Board....much like a Board of Directors. And we do individual counseling.

This 'Counselor' position involves meeting with clients who have sought us out, usually through a referral from the Chamber of Commece or a local bank. The Counselor role is to help their assigned clients develop a business plan in sufficient enough detail that they can either use it to take to a bank to seek financing, or decide that the risks are too great to move forward.
