Mission Statement
Henrico HEROES Mentoring Program is committed to supporting the development and implementation of school-based mentoring in Henrico County Public Schools. Henrico HEROES Mentoring Program envisions a community in which every youth experiences one-to-one relationships and community support, which in turn allows each of them to develop into their full potential.
Description
Henrico HEROES Mentoring Programs is a structured district wide mentoring model aimed at recruiting trained, caring individuals who develop trusting relationships with young people. Henrico HEROES serves as the umbrella over 32 mentoring programs in Henrico County Public Schools. This an award winning program that has been changing lives for seven years. The good news is that you are ALL welcomed to be a part of this life changing experience. What we envision is a community in which every youth experiences nurturing one-to-one relationships and community support which in turn allows them to develop into their full potential, capable of making informed, responsible decisions as involved members of our community. We currently have at least one mentoring program in every middle and high school across the county and serve nine elementary schools. The great news is that we can match mentors with youth of all ages. When matching mentors we take into consideration your age preference, your time availability, location preference and your interests.
