Mentoring

FCSVA is in need of mentors for our Mentoring Program. Mentoring services help our children in foster care maximize their potential by offering support, friendship, reinforcement and modeling of positive behaviors.

The FCSVA Mentor Program serves children within our organization who could benefit from positive relationships.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

  • Minimum age of 18
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Current TB Screen
  • Good Driving Record and Valid Driver’s License/Auto Insurance
  • CPR & First-Aid Certification
  • Must be willing to mentor youth ages 4-21
  • Must be willing to make a commitment of 3-6 months

Description

For Children's Sake of Virginia (FCSVA) is a private, non-profit corporation founded in 1997. We are a child placing agency providing outpatient services, therapeutic foster care and residential treatment for children and families. The For Children's Sake Emergency Diagnostic Center (EDC) exists to provide a community-based, comprehensive, ninety (90) day to (6) month treatment and assessment program for at-risk youth. The EDC provides a continuum of treatment, placement and educational services for children and their families. Our staff is comprised of highly professional, compassionate individuals working to develop positive outcomes for all parties involved in the child's life.
