Our dancers have spent months learning techniques in a range of dance styles--from Ballet to Hip Hop to Afro-Caribbean dance. They are ready to present their hard work on the big stage and we need volunteer support to help make their performance a success!
Event: Groove With Me Dancers Perform at The United Palace Theatre!
Annual Recital with 250+ girls, ages 4-18
When: Saturday, June 15, 10:30 am-5pm
Where: The United Palace Theatre - 4140 Broadway, New York, NY 10033
Who Can Help: We're looking for female volunteers to assist Groove With Me staff and teachers with students' costume changes, back-stage supervision, and post-show wrap-up. Fluency in Spanish is preferred but not mandatory. We can also use some male volunteers to help manage the house, communicate with parents in the audience, and help transport costumes.
About Us: Groove With Me, Inc. is a non profit that utilizes FREE after school and summer dance classes to promote and encourage positive youth development among girls, ages 4-18, residing in East Harlem and the South Bronx. We serve between 250 girls per year and offer between 37 classes each year.

Groove With Me is a youth development organization that uses free dance classes and performance opportunities to attract and engage girls in an effort to build their self confidence, enhance their leadership skills, and develop a cooperative spirit.
Description
Groove With Me opened a dance studio in Spanish Harlem in January, 2001 after 5 years in borrowed spaces. We offer 36 dance classes every week in hip hop, tap, ballet, Afro-Caribbean, modern, nia, jazz and more to girls aged 4-18.
