As an advocacy agency for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, it is crucial for our members to practice social skills, build self-esteem and encourage independance. Our Social/Recreation Program allows us to reach these goals and reach for new ones. As a volunteer for Delaware County Advocacy & Resource Organization, you will participate in day and evening trips to venues such as The Media Theatre, Linvilla Orchards, Hershey Park, Lancaster, The Philadelphia Zoo and many others! Events are year round and offer flexibility to volunteers interested in looking for wholesome community outreach.

It is the mission of the Delaware County Advocacy & Resource Organization to advocate for inclusive public policy and provide social and recreational opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to assist them in achieving their full potential as individuals, as employees and as members of their communities.
Description
The Delaware County Advocacy & Resource Organization has been the premier advocacy organization serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Delaware County for over 60 years. In addition to our direct advocacy programs including our Education Advocacy and Adult Advocacy programs, we are active in legislative advocacy on behalf of the individuals and communities we serve. Our organization also provides social and recreational activities to the individuals we serve.
