The Burbank Historical Society/Gordon R. Howard museum, located in George Izay (Olive) Park is seeking more tour guides for all of the tours we give to the Burbank elementary schools during the school year. We also lead special guided tours to other groups throughout the year.
Our Museum complex is made up of nearly 30,000 square feet of exhibit space dedicated to preserving the rich history of Burbank's colorful past. If you have seen the blue Victorian house on Olive Avenue next to the Lockheed Starfighter jet, then you have only seen a small part of the museum. Behind the house and next to the Creative Arts Center is our enormous museum filled with artificats from Lockheed, the studios, the old ranch days of Burbank, and much more.
If you enjoy public speaking and share a love for history, come learn to be a tour guide! We will provide training and we always work to accommodate your schedules. That said, our tours last 1-1/2 hour tours on various (flexible) weekdays. We tour guides always have a lot of fun giving the tours and interacting with the public. As you know, kids say the darndest things! Come join us!

Description
We have over 20,000 square feet of museum space dedicated to showing the public all the wonders of Burbank from the 19th century to today. If you've seen the "little blue Victorian house" on Olive Avenue, that is part of our museum! Behind the house is a very large museum with even more artifacts on display. It is truly fascinating, educational and fun! A hidden gem right here in Burbank! Located in George Izay Park right next to the Creative Arts Center, we have free parking behind the park, on Clark Street. We are open to the public from 1 to 4 pm Saturdays and Sundays and admission is free! Group tours can be arranged as well, on weekdays. NOTE: We also offer guided tours to all Burbank elementary schools (3rd grade) throughout the school year. Our docent/volunteer opportunities provide an excellent way to meet new people and make friends!!
