We're neighbors helping neighbors- we can all get out safely with the power of us! is a nonprofit organization based in New Orleans that recruits and trains volunteers to provide hurricane preparedness and City-Assisted Evacuation (CAE) information to the community. Our Evacuation Volunteers ("Evacuteers") also help facilitate the CAE in the case of a mandatory evacuation.

Every year, we work with the New Orleans Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (NOHSEP) and other partner agencies to conduct a drill of the City-Assisted Evacuation (CAE) plan. This year we're all very excited to partner with the University of New Orleans Center for Hazards Assessment, Response and Technology (UNO-CHART) to simulate New Orleans' first full-scale exercise of CAE! All we need is YOU! We need to recruit hundreds of volunteers to participate in this exercise, role-playing as both Evacuteers and evacuees. The more volunteers we have, the better able we are to test these systems in advance of a real-life activation!

This is a great opportunity to refresh your knowledge of CAE, or to simply better understand it through first-hand experience! Lunch will be provided- please contact Jillian if you'd like to volunteer!
