Thank you for considering volunteering with Encompass Health Hospice.

Our Phone Support Volunteers are an integral part of our hospice team. Our Phone Support volunteers will be trained to call patients and family members of our current and past hospice patients for various needs and items.

Types of phone calls our volunteers can provide:
-Tuck in calls: we call our patients every Thursday to ensure they have enough supplies and medicines to get them through the weekend
-Birthday calls: we call patients on their birthdays to provide companionship and emotional support
-Holiday calls: we call patients on holidays to let them know we're thinking about them and care for them during the holiday season
-Bereavement calls: we call family members of past hospice patients to offer encouragement and emotional support during their difficult transition in life without their loved ones

Phone calls can be made in the office or in the home of the volunteer, depending on the schedule of the volunteer.

If you are interested in volunteer in this capacity, please send us an email. We look forward to hearing from you!

Mission Statement

At Enhabit Home Health & Hospice, we believe hospice is not a place, but rather a philosophy of care. Our goal is to bring dignity and comfort home by offering compassionate care to patients and their families during the final stages of life.

Description

Enhabit is looking for direct patient and administrative volunteers to provide support to patients during their final months and weeks of life. Volunteers provide non-medical services and respite time for caregivers and family members. As a hospice volunteer, you will be given choices as to how much time and what types of things you want to do.

A few ways you can help as a hospice volunteer is by running errands for patients and families, playing games or reading with patients, walking and caring for family pets, or even creating a photo album of the patient and their family.
