Have you ever driven by the charming blue Victorian house next to the Lockheed Starfighter jet on Olive Avenue in George Izay (Olive) Park and wondered what it is? Well, it's a part of the Burbank Historical Society's Gordon R. Howard Museum -- and just behind the blue house, next to the Creative Arts Center, is a 20,000-square-foot museum which is simply huge!
Our museum complex, filled with historical artifacts, antique vehicles, Lockheed exhibits, studio sets and much more, is seeking people to greet visitors, answer questions as needed and monitor what is going on inside the museum. We are here to train and help you, but the most important task is being the face of the museum with a smile to the public.
All of us at the Burbank Historical Society are volunteers. We have formed a camaraderie based on a shared love of history, helping people, interacting with the public and preserving Burbank's treasured and fascinating past. We welcome you to be a part of our family!

Description
We have over 20,000 square feet of museum space dedicated to showing the public all the wonders of Burbank from the 19th century to today. If you've seen the "little blue Victorian house" on Olive Avenue, that is part of our museum! Behind the house is a very large museum with even more artifacts on display. It is truly fascinating, educational and fun! A hidden gem right here in Burbank! Located in George Izay Park right next to the Creative Arts Center, we have free parking behind the park, on Clark Street. We are open to the public from 1 to 4 pm Saturdays and Sundays and admission is free! Group tours can be arranged as well, on weekdays. NOTE: We also offer guided tours to all Burbank elementary schools (3rd grade) throughout the school year. Our docent/volunteer opportunities provide an excellent way to meet new people and make friends!!
