Our Social/Recreation Program strives for community inclusion for our members with disabilities. Part of our vision is the hope to cultivate some skilled golfers with disabilities and progress to golf outings in the future. Our current season includes each Saturday in May as well as June, with a Pizza Party celebration on the last day of each session. As a volunteer, you will engage with members to support self-esteem, independence and to practice social skills.

We will provide a free background check. A brief interview is requested.

It is the mission of the Delaware County Advocacy & Resource Organization to advocate for inclusive public policy and provide social and recreational opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to assist them in achieving their full potential as individuals, as employees and as members of their communities.

Description

The Delaware County Advocacy & Resource Organization has been the premier advocacy organization serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Delaware County for over 60 years. In addition to our direct advocacy programs including our Education Advocacy and Adult Advocacy programs, we are active in legislative advocacy on behalf of the individuals and communities we serve. Our organization also provides social and recreational activities to the individuals we serve.
