Description

We invite you to join in our work as we continue to provide crisis services to the survivors of sexual assault and child abuse. We also provide prevention services by way of our 24 hour hotline and educational programs including Child SAFE. You will be professionally trained and supported throughout your service to the organization. You WILL make a difference in a family and in our community. You will feel the sense of purpose and achievement when just one survivor says "Thank You".

Helpful Skills

  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to issues regarding sexual assault and child abuse. Ability to work well with Adults and Children. Cultural and Diverse Sensitivity a must. Bi- or tri-lingual (English, Spanish, Mazateco) extremely needed but not a requirement.

Mission Statement

To alleviate the initial trauma of sexual assault and child abuse survivors and their significant others through direct support services and immediate intervention, and also to prevent further occurrence of these crimes through education and prevention services.

Description

The Center is a non-profit agency supported in part by the Office of Criminal Justice Planning, United Way, and private donations in an effort to provide Education/Prevention and Intervention Services to the communities in Northern Santa Barbara County in California.

If you are interested in volunteering with the Center, you must live within our service area in the north county. At this time, we are only offering Professional Development in the local area as well.
