Kidsbridge Tolerance Center seeks volunteer facilitators for its mobile outreach program to schools and youth groups, for Pre School through eighth grade. Kidsbridge’s programs educate and empower youth through engaging, interactive activities in bullying prevention, diversity appreciation and pro-social life skills. In school classrooms or the Center, students practice being positive advocates for themselves and others to promote the reduction of bullying, prejudice, and discrimination.

Qualified applicants must possess:

Willingness to attend training

Strong communication skills

Prior experience working with this age group is desirable.

A background check is required.

Description

Kidsbridge is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing engaging programs that focus on bullying prevention; tolerance & diversity appreciation; empowerment & positive self-esteem; peaceful conflict resolution & respect for all persons; sensitivity for persons with disabilities, addressing gender and LGBT issues; and youth grassroots activism. Children and teens visiting the Tolerance Center interact in small groups; a trained group leader (Kidsbridge staff, or adult volunteers from the community) encourages discussion around the face to face interactive activities. Kidsbridge also has a mobile outreach program where facilitators and volunteers travel to the classrooms to present social emotional programs.
