Woodland Phlox in Bloom
With the garlic mustard removed, native flowers like this woodland phlox can thrive again!

At 1520 acres, Cap Sauers is the largest block of nature in all of Cook County and it's only 20 miles from downtown Chicago!

Walk in ancient oak groves, prairie openings and up and down hills and ravines.

Join us and see what regular visitors don't.

We'll be clearing invasive plants to help restore the conditions for healthy nature:

  • more sunlight reaching the ground
  • reduced soil erosion
  • food and shelter for butterflies and wildlife
