Are you dynamic at teaching skills to others so that they may obtain gainful employment? If so, we need YOU!

The Hutchins Re-entry Center is looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to help our clients gain valuable tools in order to gain employment. We are seeking volunteers who will:

• Teach clients how to write a resume and cover letter

• Teach clients online job search and application skills

• Teach clients interviewing techniques, including attire

• Teach clients business communication & workplace etiquette

Specific activities included in the position:

• Instruct clients on appropriate resume writing techniques

• Demonstrate effective job search and application techniques

• Conduct mock interview with clients and provide feedback

• Demonstrate appropriate and inappropriate workplace behavior and communication (interaction with authority and peers).

Qualifications and skills needed:

• Able to clearly and effectively relate information to clients/residents and staff

• Background in employment staffing/coaching/counseling, human resources, workforce skills development, job mentoring or a similar background that has provided the volunteer with sufficient knowledge to fulfill the need.

• Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality at all times

• Demonstrates high degree of integrity and ethical standards

• Upholds organizational values

• Must be able to pass a criminal background check
