Hospice is a special kind of caring that is person and family centered and seeks to provide support and comfort to those facing a life limiting illness.
Volunteers play a large role in this effort by sharing their skills and interests in a manner that enriches the quality of life for those they serve.
Hospice volunteers make up at least 5% of all direct care hours in hospice programs nationwide. The impact volunteers have on patients and families is immeasurable.
A hospice companion volunteer provides comfort and enriches the quality of life for our hospice patients and their families by making visits to them at their places of residence. This could include listening, reading, doing activities, or simply being present. Our volunteers provide families with the peace of mind that their family member is being loved and cared for by a specially trained individual. Won't you join us in our effort to provide our patients with happy and enjoyable days?!
