The Haas-Lilienthal House

House Tours: Volunteers lead the public through tours of the exterior and interior of the Haas-Lilienthal House. Public tours are offered on Wednesday (12-3), Saturday (12-3), and Sunday (11-4). All tours of the house are guided. Volunteers complete training in order to conduct tours. Docents choose a weekday or weekend shift and asked to commit to two shifts a month for at least a year.

School Tours: Tours are offered to select 3rd-grade classrooms through our popular Heritage Hikes program. December through May school groups schedule visits for Tuesdays and Thursdays and are given a volunteer guided tour of the Haas-Lilienthal House. Heritage Hike House tours involve additional teaching aids than a regular House tour. Volunteers complete training in order to conduct Heritage Hikes tours and must commit to two shifts per month for at least a year.

Volunteer Benefits:

  • SF Heritage membership
  • Invitations to special volunteer-only events
  • Continuing educational opportunities
  • Free House Tour admission for friends and family
  • Rewarding experiences and being part of the historic preservation community
