There are many opportunities for volunteering or interning with Embrace. Along with the Ladysmith Shelter, we also have outreach offices in Shell Lake and Phillips. Volunteers and needed at all three locations.
Ladysmith
Volunteer to assist with housekeeping within the shelter. Emptying trash in offices and residential spaces. Vacuuming throughout the building, dusting, organizing playroom toys and books, cleaning bathrooms and kitchen.
Lawn care - weekly mowing during the summer months, cleaning gutters in the fall and spring, trimming trees and bushes, weeding gardens and flowerbeds.
Crisis Phones - answering phones during the day and handle any crisis calls that may come through as well as field general business calls.
Marketing - distribution of fliers and brochures advertising events and services throughout the county.
Phillips
Assisting with office files, organizing client files and paperwork form meetings and presentations.

Description
Embrace provides supportive services in Barron, Rusk, Washburn, and Price Counties for all people affected by domestic and sexual violence. Our staff is available 24/7 to provide confidential services that won't cost you anything. We offer information to help you connect to community resources. We can set an appointment for you to come in for crisis counseling and advocacy. We have a safe shelter and support groups. We can also support you through the medical and legal processes. We have wonderful, highly trained staff who are always just a call or text away; whether you're in crisis or just want someone to talk to.
