The Long Beach Neighborhood Foundation (L.B.N.F.) is a 501(c)3 not for profit organization committed to organizing and sponsoring athletic events and programs in Long Beach that promote community involvement, education, tolerance, and a healthy non-violent lifestyle, particularly among our city’s at risk youth. All funds generated will be used to benefit at risk youth through grants to local programs and through economic development efforts in historically underserved parts of Long Beach. LBNF’s flagship event, the Wrigley River Run 5K and 10K and Kids’ Tadpole Trot gets rave reviews from runners and the community at large and has earned the distinction of being the premier 5/10K in Long Beach. The event started with fewer than 200 participants but expects to grow to more than 2500 in 2018. LBNF needs volunteers for the Wrigley River Run to do things such as be a course marshals, help with registration, hand out shirts and bags, help with the directing traffic, directing parking, running the kids zone, and being greeter.
